Ghighiu

Manastirea Ghighiu este situata la aproximativ 5 km de Ploiesti, in comuna Barcanesti, judetul Prahova. Aceasta poarta hramul "Izvorul Tamaduirii" si este cunoscuta pentru icoana facatoare de minuni a Maicii Domnului, adusa din Siria, precum si pentru izvorul tamaduitor care atrage credinciosi din toata tara. Actuala biserica a manastirii a fost construita intre anii 1858 si 1866, pe temelia unei foste biserici din lemn. Arhitectura aminteste de stilul brancovenesc, iar pictura, realizata de Gheorghe Tattarescu, reprezinta scoala italiana.
