Pilgrimage to Ghighiu Monastery – Feast of the Healing Spring

“It is truly meet to bless you, O Theotokos, ever-blessed and most pure and Mother of our God. More honorable than the cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Word; true Mother of God, we magnify you.”

In the church calendar, no fewer than ten feasts are dedicated to the Mother of God, and the Feast of the Healing Spring recalls a miracle performed by her, when she healed a blind man with water from a spring that still flows to this day.

In this pilgrimage dedicated to the Mother of God, you will witness the grace through which she protects the faithful, starting at Ghighiu Monastery, whose feast is the Healing Spring. After the conclusion of the religious celebrations, we continue to other miraculous icons of the Mother of God located in monasteries around Bucharest: Pissiota Monastery and Zamfira Monastery.
