Cappadocia is located in the heart of Anatolia, Central Turkey. Arid plateaus, fairy chimneys, and villages carved into volcanic tuff create a movie-like setting. Underground, labyrinthine cities tell the story of early Christian communities. On the surface, cave hotels and terraces overlooking the valleys transform every evening into a painting. It is a place where adventure remains gentle, and the silence is the color of sunset.

Practical information
When to go
Spring and autumn are ideal. April-June and September-October offer mild temperatures and clear skies. Summer can be very hot at noon. Winter is quiet with better prices, but balloons depend on the weather.
Visas and documents
Romanian citizens can travel to Turkey without a visa for tourist stays of up to 90 days. An electronic identity card or a valid passport is accepted. Check for any official updates before departure.
Money and payments
The local currency is the Turkish Lira. Cards are accepted in many hotels and restaurants, but it's good to have cash for markets, workshops, and tips. The usual tip is 10 percent in restaurants, and rounding up for guides and activities.
Destination transport
Domestic flight from Istanbul to Kayseri or Nevşehir, then a 60-75 minute transfer to Göreme. On-site, you can move around with organized Red Tour and Green Tour trips, car rentals for flexibility, taxis with agreed rates, or 'dolmuș' between locations. For balloons, the hotel-to-takeoff transfer is usually included.
