On April 25, 2026, we invite you to participate in a one-day pilgrimage to Pantocrator Monastery, organized for a special spiritual event: the bringing of the Holy Head of Saint George the Great Martyr from Xenofont Monastery on the Holy Mount Athos.

This moment represents a rare blessing for the faithful in Romania, who will have the opportunity to venerate one of the most revered relics of Orthodox Christianity.

The pilgrimage includes participation in the special liturgical program organized at Pantocrator Monastery, as well as visiting other places of prayer in the area.

Saint George the Great Martyr, also known as the Victory-Bearer, is one of the most beloved saints of Orthodox Christianity. He is known for his courage, unwavering faith, and his power of intercession before God.

Over time, Saint George has become the protector of many churches, communities, and believers worldwide.

The Holy Head of Saint George, kept for centuries at Xenofont Monastery on the Holy Mount Athos, is very rarely taken out of Greece. Bringing this holy relic to Romania represents a unique moment and a great blessing for the faithful.

For pilgrims, it is a rare opportunity to pray and receive a blessing before a relic revered for generations.

An Unforgettable Spiritual Pilgrimage

This pilgrimage to Pantocrator Monastery is a special opportunity to live an authentic spiritual experience. You will be able to participate in services, pray before the holy relics of Saint Mary Magdalene and Saint George the Great Martyr, and discover the peace and beauty of the monasteries in southern Romania.

Minimum group: 15 people
For the organization of transport, the group structure is as follows:
• Groups between 15–23 people: transport by classified minibus
• Groups between 24–35 people: transport by classified midibus
• Groups between 36–50 people: transport by classified coach

To provide you with a comfortable and well-organized experience, the pilgrimage includes the following services:

Accredited Theology Guide

Throughout the pilgrimage, you will be accompanied by an accredited guide with theological studies, who will provide explanations about the pilgrimage sites, the history of the monasteries, Orthodox traditions, and the spiritual importance of the visited locations.

Tourist-Class Transport

Transport is provided by minibus, midibus, or coach classified for tourist transport, depending on the number of participants registered for the pilgrimage. All means of transport are authorized and ensure conditions of comfort and safety for travelers.

Itinerary

  • 07:30 – Departure from Bucharest (Constitution Square car park). We begin this one-day pilgrimage, travelling towards Teleorman County.
  • Pantocrator Monastery: The central destination of the day. We will attend the liturgical programme and have the unique opportunity to venerate the Honourable Head of the Holy Great Martyr George (brought to the event from Xenophontos Monastery on Mount Athos), as well as the relics of Saint Mary Magdalene.
  • Church in Letca Nouă: We continue the spiritual journey at the “Nativity of the Mother of God” Church, a place representative of the Orthodox tradition. Here we will venerate the famous miracle-working icon of the Mother of God.
  • Drăgănescu Church: Our next stop is Saint Nicholas Church, nationally renowned for the unique painting created by Father Arsenie Boca, a true masterpiece of Romanian spirituality.
  • Afternoon – Return to Bucharest, with arrival depending on traffic conditions.

  • Licensed theological guide: throughout the day, a guide with theological studies provides detailed explanations about monastery history, Orthodox traditions and the spiritual importance of the relics visited.
  • Rated tourist transport: safe and comfortable travel, allocated according to registrations:
    • 15–23 people: rated minibus
    • 24–35 people: rated mid-size coach
    • 36–50 people: rated coach

Terms

Withdrawal Conditions
a) 30% of the tourist package price is retained when cancellation is made more than 30 calendar days before departure.
b) 50% is retained when withdrawal occurs 29–20 calendar days before departure.
c) 100% is retained in the following cases:
  • Failure to notify the agency or attend the programme.
  • Cancellation fewer than 19 calendar days before departure or on the departure date.
  • Failure to comply with contractual conditions, submission of incomplete or false documents, absence of required documents, or failure to pay the excursion in full within the stipulated deadlines.
Penalties apply to the total contract price stated in Article II.

  • Minors may travel only when accompanied by at least one adult.
  • The order of visits may change or attractions may be replaced depending on special circumstances, at the tour escort’s discretion.
  • This document forms an annex to the service contract.
